Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Facelapse application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. License Grant

Mothlight (Rhys Davis) ("Mothlight", "we", "us", "our") grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial use on Android devices you own or control, subject to these Terms.

3. Description of Service

Facelapse is a face-aligned selfie timelapse application. The App allows you to take selfies, automatically aligns them using facial landmarks, and generates timelapse videos from your photo sequence. All photos and videos are stored locally on your device.

4. In-App Purchases

Facelapse offers an optional "Unlock Facelapse" one-time purchase that permanently unlocks premium features. This is not a subscription — it is a single, permanent purchase. All purchases are processed through Google Play Billing. Refunds are handled through Google Play in accordance with their refund policy.

5. User Content

You retain full ownership of all photos, videos, and timelapse content you create using the App. Facelapse does not access, collect, upload, or store your photos or videos on any server. All content remains on your device unless you explicitly initiate a share, export, or backup operation.

6. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what limited anonymous data we collect and how it is used.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App
• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the App
• Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, graphics, branding, and the "Facelapse" name and logo, are the exclusive property of Mothlight and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand features.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOTHLIGHT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PHOTOS OR VIDEOS, DEVICE DAMAGE, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.

Since Facelapse stores all content locally on your device, we are not responsible for any loss of photos, videos, or timelapse data due to device failure, accidental deletion, or any other cause.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
